They may help your loved ones get to the entrance a little quicker but once you enter a cave, these items become a waste of space.
Some spells work differently!
You'll notice creatures in Woodlands have a much higher resistance to magic. Spells you expect to never fail are often deflected here.
If you're a Mage or a Rogue, take a careful look at the table below.

NOTE: The first heading is spell type because it applies to all other spells and traps which have the same function.
Example:
"flash trap" will work the same as "blind"
"doze" will work the same as "sleep".
Also, though "Amnesia" and "Confuse" don't technically work, they can be used to make creatures move one or two tiles out of your way.
Creature AI is different!
There are two significant differences:
Spawn Location and something we'll call The Observer Effect.

When a room is empty, creatures in Woodland caves will attempt to move back to their spawning tiles. In other caves they would simply remain in their last held position.
This can be a huge advantage if you're soloing and get stuck. Simply log out and then log back in and continue on your path.

Not only do creatures go back to their starting position when you leave a room, they also rapidly regenerate back to their starting health.
However, you do not need to leave the room for this to happen! The creature merely has to lose agro for a second.
Occasionally, you may even witness a bug where the creature suddenly stops moving and tries to regenerate to full health. Don't bother attacking it until it regains agro.
